Billy Bobs & Train Rides!
On May bank holiday Monday we headed over to Billy Bobs Ice Cream Parlour for a day full of fun and frolics! In the past we have been terrible at organising day trips out until very last minute, so this year me and Jake have made a big effort to plan weeks before what we are going to be up to on weekends and when Jake has time off work. This works a lot easier for us because we usually spend half of the day deciding whether to do one thing or the other and then by 1pm we are getting annoyed with each other and the kids because we haven't left the house yet!
Even though we had decided in advance we would be going to the ice cream parlour, we didn't think about how busy it would be on a Bank Holiday Monday when every child and their parents are going to be gallivanting around the UK searching for fun things to do! This meant that the wait for a table was 5 hours! Can you believe that? Luckily it was every man for themselves in the play ground, and boy did we fight for the swings! I kept reminding myself that Noah and Isla were enjoying themselves so stick it out for a little while longer.
Thankfully my 2 angels soon got sick of all the chaos in the play area and wanted to move onto somewhere else. On our way to Billy Bobs we had passed a cute little railway station in Bolton Abbey so we decided to drive back and take a train ride. Thankfully it wasn't so busy here! Noah, Isla and Jake loved the whole experience! Jake has only been on a train once before so he was as giddy as little Noah! I loved watching them! It was an old fashioned Steam Train and we sat in our own little booths, me being obsessed with Harry Potter loved this! Jake had his head out of the window the whole time with Noah shouting "Daddy stop doing that, it's dangerous!" Me and Isla were sipping on our drinks and nibbling chocolate just enjoying the journey.
I love Bank Holiday weekends with my sweethearts and luckily for me, I'm typing this whilst its another Bank Holiday!
