Roll up Blind #2
After my first attempt at making a blind was pretty successful, (aside from the fact it took me 2 hours to just measure and cut the material out.)I was ready to make another one for my kitchen door! I measured the length and width of the window on the door and added one inch on each side of the material, just in case I made a major mistake like not sewing in a straight line! (which happens on a regular basis.)
I cut out the front and back pieces of material carefully, there is nothing worse than making your pieces too small! I then turned my pieces inside out and pinned them together.
I first stitched what was going to be the bottom of my blind, and then worked my way up both of the sides!
I then measured out 4 pieces of ribbon, which would hold my blind up when not in use! (who am I kidding I think it looks way better when rolled up with a nice bow at the bottom!) Then I secured my ribbon on with a pin and sewed them on to the top of my blind.
I then got a weight (piece of wood!)to put into the bottom of my blind. The professional way is to probably slide it in from the bottom but my way worked easier for me!
Last but not least I folded the top of my blind inwards and sewed the pieces together!

The finished product!
If I were to do anything differently, I would most likely use different material on the back, I think it looks really nice when you have 2 contrasting materials together and it makes it look even more professional! unfortunately I didn't think about that when buying my material this time.
Now what is my next project going to be?!?
